The guidelines outline the basics of respectful behavior and prohibit unwelcome behavior such as harassment and discrimination. The document also describes the moderation and enforcement process, which includes reporting issues to the Zuzalu team. The goal is to resolve conflicts harmoniously, but repeat offenders may be asked to leave the community.

Zuzalu Mission and Values

Zuzalu’s community guidelines are informed by our mission and values:

Mission: To gather the brightest minds from across the world to brainstorm on the world’s most complex problems over a casual dinner, during a hike up Lovcen, or while sitting next to each other at a workshop. More than anything, we want you to meet your best friends, your future cofounders and partners here.

Values: Optimizing for curiosity, openness to novel ideas, and positive mindsets

The Basics

• Respect each other: Treat fellow community members with kindness, empathy, and respect. We value diversity of opinions and backgrounds, and expect everyone to treat others with dignity.

• Don’t Flaunt: We ask that community members refrain from flaunting their Zuzalu experience on social media or other platforms as it goes against our values of humility and respect.

• Celebrate our Differences: We are all different because we need each other. Learn about each other and allow our differences to bond us.

• Protect our Space: Remember to be respectful and constructive with your communication to fellow members. We are a community free from online, physical or sexual harassment and assault. Everyone should take responsibility for the community and take the initiative to diffuse tension and stop a negative threat as early as possible.

• Maximize this experience: Get involved in the Zuzalu community, participate in available opportunities and make the most of your time here. It's also encouraged to help other members maximize their experience whenever possible.

• Consent: We believe that consent plays a vital part in our connectivity and community. Our vision is that all parties participate in a physical encounter from a place of enthusiasm and autonomy.

  • Touch: Consent must be explicitly granted from an individual who is clearly in a state of mind to be able to grant it.
  • Foods: Disclose the ingredients, one person’s innocuous ingredient can be someone else’s allergy.
  • Photography: Ask before taking pictures. Remember consent to take a picture is NOT consent to post it on your blog.

  Consent can be revoked once it’s been given.
